Diabetes Awareness and Health Education Session was conducted by Department of Community medicine in UHTC, Ajmera on 22^nd November 2023 and outreach centre at Koyali on 24^th November 2023 on occasion of “World Diabetes Day”.

The events started with a health talk by Dr. Anu Gaikwad, Head of the Department of Geriatric Medicine. He sensitized the community on symptoms, treatment, and complications of diabetes. In a simple and effective way, he enlightened the beneficiaries on management of beneficiaries. The health talk was followed by Nukkad Natak on Diabetes by interns on the theme “Access to diabetes care”.

The Natak was highly appreciated by the community. A screening session was conducted after the skit. The screening involved tests like random blood sugar levels, HbA1C, Blood Pressure measurement and BMI. The event ended with health refreshments for all beneficiaries. Both the events were successful with support from the Department Of Geriatric Medicine and Ms Annie Francis.
