Department of Paediatrics observed ‘National Epilepsy Day’ from 17^th November 2023 to 22^nd November 2023. The following events were organized as part of this.

A variety of interactive and academic activities were undertaken during this tenure. The events were flagged off by a talk on Epilepsy for Post-graduate residents by Dr. Shiji Chalipat (Professor and Paediatric Neurologist, Department of Paediatrics) on 17^th November 2023.

It was followed by an illustrative poster display on Epilepsy awareness by fellows in Paediatric Neurology, post-graduate residents, and interns from 17^th to 22^nd November 2023 in the Paediatrics OPD.

A skit was performed by the post-graduate residents on 20^th of November 2023 in the Paediatrics OPD educating the parents about immediate steps to be taken in case of an emergency. The students stressed on avoidance of old practices taken up in an attempt to abort seizures and made the parents aware about the ideal plan of action.

A flyer on the importance of Epilepsy Day, the taboos associated with it and the treatment options was released by Dr. Shailaja Mane (Professor and HOD, Department of Paediatrics) in an inauguration ceremony held on the same day. Dr Shailaja Mane interacted with parents and answered their doubts.

A quiz on Epilepsy was organized on 22^nd November 2023 for the postgraduate residents. It was conducted by Dr Vishwanath Kulkarni, Pediatric Neurologist, Department of Pediatrics. The winners were Dr. Priyanka Shah and Dr. Arushi Narang, the 2^nd Position was clinched by Dr. Srinija Garlapati and Dr. Sarnya Verma.

The variety of events and activities were graced by all the residents, respected faculty members and parents with great enthusiasm and zest. There were 35 participants attend this program.
