The Department of Medical Gastroenterology had organized a Workshop on “Per-oral Cholangioscopy” on 13^th October 2023.

The guest faculty was Dr. Sanjay Kumar who is the proprietor of Gastro Care, Liver & Digestive Centre, Bhopal. He is a leading gastroenterologist and an expert on cholangioscopy. The equipment for the workshop was provided by Boston Scientific.

Cholangioscopy procedures were done on 13^th October 2023 in the Advanced Endoscopy Centre on the ground floor of Hi-Tech Building of the Hospital of Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune. The procedures started at 9.30AM and continued till 5.30PM.

The anesthesia support was provided by a team of faculty & residents from the Department of Anesthesiology consisting of Dr. Shweta Singh, Assistant Prof, Dr. Priya, Senior Resident and Dr. Ipshita Garg.

Under the guidance of Dr.Sanjay Kumar, an expert in this modality of scopy, various difficult to approach bile duct diseases were treated.

Retrieval of proximally migrated CBD stent in a liver transplant recipient.
Suspected Hilar Cholangio Carcinoma - biopsy with the help of spy-bite under vision from the growth.
Two cases of large stones in the CBD pulverised by EHL (Electro-hydraulic Lithotripsy) under vision with the Spyglass.
