1). The working week Monday10^th July 23 to Saturday15^th July 23 (encompassing 15^th July 2023 World Plastic Surgery Day) was observed as ‘Plastic Surgery Week’ at Dr DY Patil Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune.

2). The following is an account of the various activities carried out in the period mentioned:

a). A free Plastic Surgery Camp was organized for the duration at the Plastic Surgery OPD of the hospital. Information about the camp and the availability of completely free and comprehensive plastic surgery facilities at the hospital in this duration was placed extensively in the local language newspapers, e-news media and on radio. The camp was well signposted. The camp had a good response with 96 cases being registered in the duration and 62 cases identified for undergoing free plastic surgery over the next two months.

b). A Continuing Medical Education programme was organized on Wednesday 12^th July at the college auditorium on ‘Aesthetic Surgery: Perception, Practice, Procedures and Pitfalls’. The academic event was well attended and well received as the topic is of common interest and contemporary engagement. Distinguished faculty was available to speak on the subject with knowledge and authority.

c). A Plastic Surgery Art Festival was organized on Wednesday 12^th July 23 in the college auditorium after the CME, themed on ‘Plastic Surgery: Truth &Myth’. The event was very well attended, with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty. Entries were received in diverse art categories such as rangoli, posters, cartoons, sketches and other such artwork, musical performances, skits, mono-act, and dance.

d). Didactic teaching was teaching was carried out for interns of the hospital on the following topics:

-: 'Acute Burns: Touchstones in Therapy'
-: 'Plastic Surgery: Expanding Horizons, Exciting Possibilities'

e). Practical training was carried out in the Skill Lab and Simulation Centre of the medical college on Thursday 13^th July 2023 as follows:
-: ‘Not Clear? – Let’s Focus a Bit’ – an introductory session to the basics of microsurgery for intermediate and advanced surgical learners.
-:‘Getting It Straight’ – a session on surgical suturing technique for early surgical learners.

f). Talk shows were featured on a FM radio channel as follows:

-: On Thursday 13^th July 23 on ‘Carpal Tunnel Syndrome’, giving information on the commonness of this condition, its symptoms and advising on treatment options.
-: On Friday 14^th July 23 on ‘Aesthetic Surgery’ giving information on common plastic surgery procedures and dispelling common myths on the subject.
