1. The Department of Ophthalmology of Dr .D.Y.Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre Pimpri Pune had organized Quantum Leap: a Hands On PG Training Workshop in Association with Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society on 25^th June 2023 .
2. The Workshop was attended by 140 Post Graduate Residents from all over Maharashtra & 20 eminent National & State level Faculty members.
3. The Workshop started at 8.30 am with a sumptuous breakfast & registration followed by Hands on Training of Residents in small groups .There were 10 training stations namely Refraction ,Slit Lamp, Gonioscopy & Applanation Tonometry, IOL Master, FFA & OCT, IDO, Squint Evaluation ,Specular Microscopy ,UBM & Corneal Topography. Each delegate got expert tips on handling and interpretation of each procedure .There was a rotation of delegates in 10 batches ,each batch being trained for 30 mins each on each machine.
4. The Hands on Training was followed by lunch which was then followed by Guest Lectures in the Auditorium.
5. The Inauguration Programme in the auditorium started with Lamp Lighting by the dignitaries .Welcome speech was given by HOD Dr (Col) O K Radhakrishnan & Programme was anchored by Dr Jhimli Ta, 2nd Year Resident of the department. Felicitation of guests was followed by Speech by Hon. President of Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society , Dr Santosh Bhide and Speech by Director Academics, Dr.D.Y.Patil; Medical College P. Vatsalaswamy .
6. Lectures by Invited Guest Faculty followed with speech by Renowned Glaucoma Specialist from New Delhi Dr Devindra Sood who Spoke on How to Read & Interpret Perimeter Reports. This was followed by his talk on Gonioscopy.
7. There were 2 lectures by Dr.M.Vanathi ,Editor Indian Journal Of Ophthalmology ,Professor of Ophthalmology ,Cornea & Cataract & Refractive Surgery Services, R.P Centre AIIMS ,New Delhi on Interpreting Corneal Topography & Thesis Writing & Research Paper writing :Nuances which was online .
8. Online lectures by Dr. Deepak Bhatt from Mumbai and Dr. Chaitra Jayadev from Bangalore then followed on B Scan & How to read an OCT.
9. The Workshop ended with a vote of Thanks by Hands On PG Programme Coordinator, Dr Radhika Paranjpe and Tea/Coffee & Snacks for all.
