The Entrustable Professional Activity Sensitization Workshop was conducted on 7^th December 2024 by the Medical Education Unit from 10 am to 5 pm. Fifty-six medical teachers participated in the workshop.

The day started with a pre-test and was followed by the introduction of faculty and participants. Dean, A. Rekha addressed the need for the implementation of CBME, which is the need of the hour for the implementation of CBME. Dr. P. Vatsalaswamy, Director of Academics, gave valuable guidance to all faculties.

\n\n

There was an interactive session on Building the Foundation: Unpacking PG CBME by Dr. Praveen Iyer, which included laying the groundwork for competency-based medical education in postgraduate programs.

\n\n

Reshma addressed the session on connecting the Dots: Mapping competencies to EPA with the objectives of the session to analyze the relationship between EPA and CBME, generate an EPA from work analysis, and describe attributes of an EPA. She made the session interesting and interactive. The faculty shared their examples of EPA. This was followed by The DNA of an EPA: Crafting with Precision session. Dr. Reshma Kini and Dr. Praveen Iyer made the session enjoyable by explaining the rationale of each of the components of the EPA. The activity of writing the EPA for their subjects was assigned to all faculties.

\n\n\n\n

The \"Entrustment Essentials: Trust, Scales, and ARICH\" session was interesting. It explored the key components of the entrustment decision and framework, which was meaningful.

\n\n

There were role plays based on case scenarios. Debriefing was done after the sessions. Dr. Reshma G. Kini. explained the difference between assessment for competence and entrustment, the entrustment scale, summative entrustment decisions, and the relevance of the ARICH framework in the entrustment template of the EPA, which was shared. There was an effort to step into the shoes of decision-makers in a simulated entrustment scenario.

There was a discussion on Trustworthy Decisions: Leveraging Data and E-Logs. Dr. Pramila Menon shared the E-logbook prepared by DPU for residents.
