Poster and Rangoli Competition:

During the week of World Mental Health Day, the psychiatry department motivated UG medical students to express their creative ideas on mental health through rangoli and posters. UG students enthusiastically participated and expressed their artistic skills and humanitarian attitudes. A total of 31 rangoli were made at the college foyer, and 28 posters were displayed near the administrative block and auditorium. Winners were awarded at a valedictory function on World Mental Health Day on 10^th Oct 2024.

Valedictory Function on World Mental Health Day -

The psychiatry department led this function, and fortunately this was also Navratri week. So several cultural events were conducted that included classical singing by Dr. Prabhat Nichkoade by presenting Raag Bhupali and several non-classical yet devotional singing by Dr. Mukesh Patel, Dr. Pramod Jog, Dr. Chhaya Suryawanshi, and Dr. Sonal Khatavkar.

The event also included a classical dance competition and a creative fashion show depicting the power of famine energy. The function was graced by Pro Chancellor Hon. Bhagyashree Patil madam.

Guest lecture on the theme of World Mental Health Day 2024 -

Prof. Dr. Mukesh Patel delivered a guest lecture on “It’s time to prioritize mental health.” His 25 years of experience were expressed lucidly and in simple language, captivating the audience on the subject. BK Dr. Sachin Parab, a re-presenter from Prajapita Brahmakumaris, expressed his thoughts on mental health and inspired our faculty and students to be positive and enthusiastic amidst all odds. He shared his personal experiences of ups and downs in an entertaining way. His thoughts on suicide prevention and deaddiction must have lingered in the subconscious mind of the listeners.
