Medical Education Unit and IQAC Medical –Organized a Guest Lecture on 31^st July 2024 as an IIC Activity.

The Topic was “Artificial Intelligence in Medical Education-Future of Education”.

The guest speaker was Prof. Dr. Arun Jamkar MS, Ph.D. FICS, FMAS, FIAGES, FAMS, FAIMER Fellow, Multifaceted Surgeon, Eminent Educationist, Versatile Administrator, Mentor and Globally Acknowledged Innovator.

He enlightened the audience about AI in the medical field, how it is now being used extensively in Ophthalmology, Radiology, Surgery and other specialties. He also talked about AI shaping the future of Medical Education, Curriculum Planning & Evaluation .He emphasized that AI is the way forward today. He applauded our hospital (Dr. D. Y. Patil Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri , Pune 411018) for already using AI in Robotics Surgery.

The session was honored by the virtual presence of Honorable Pro Vice Chancellor Mrs. Smita Jadhav, Registrar DYPU Honorable Dr. N. Kadu ,Dr. A. N. Suryakar, Director IQAC, DYPU, Dean Dr. J. S. Bhawalkar, Dr. Amarjit Singh Principal Director &CEO ,Dr P. Vatsalaswamy ,Director Academics and attended by Deans & Directors of various institutes of DYPU, Faculties of MEU& other institutes of DPU, Students - 2^nd year MBBS & Nursing .

It was a very informative session and made the audience aware how AI can help in accurate and quick diagnosis.
